It is Europe's largest rocking horse. It is truly monumental in size: it is 7.30 meters long and 5 meters tall. It was created for Roberto Benigni's movie Pinocchio. In the movie, you can see him rocking happily in the square of Toyland. Roberto was designed by the Oscar-winning costume and production designer Danilo Donati. It was made of fibreglass by Filomeno Crisarà, who took inspiration from British rocking horses of the Georgian era. Roberto joined the Museum collection in 2002 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Tornese's birth and now welcomes visitors at the Museum entrance. It takes its name from the movie director for which it was created, Roberto Benigni.
